BelovED Community Charter School is excited to share that they have been awarded the Bronze with Access recognition from the AP College Board for their exceptional AP programs. This recognition is a testament to the school's commitment to providing rigorous academic opportunities to its scholars while also broadening access to advanced coursework.

As one of the only two public schools in Jersey City to receive this distinguished recognition, BelovED is proud to be leading the way in promoting equitable access to higher education. The AP School Honor Roll, which is replacing the previous AP District Honor Roll, offers four levels of distinction: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Schools on the AP School Honor Roll can also earn the AP Access Award for demonstrating a clear and effective commitment to equitable access to advanced coursework.

To be recognized on the AP School Honor Roll, schools must meet specific criteria anchored in research-based relationships between AP and college outcomes. These include having a college culture, where 40% or more of the graduating cohort took at least one AP Exam during high school, college credit, where 25% or more of the graduating cohort scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP Exam during high school, and college optimization, where 2% or more of the graduating cohort took five or more AP Exams during high school.

BelovED's commitment to providing these opportunities to its scholars is commendable, and the school is honored to receive this recognition. By offering prestigious programs like AP classes, BelovED is finding innovative ways to support its scholars and prepare them for success in higher education. Congratulations to our BelovED staff, scholars, and families on this outstanding achievement!
